Trending in 2023: Is Silver Jewelry Making a Comeback?

The short answer is a resounding yes. Silver jewelry is one of the biggest trends we’re seeing this year and it’s no surprise due to its versatility and classic appeal. Gold has lead the ranks in its class for several seasons, but now its silver’s time to shine, literally.

We’re seeing several variations of silver pieces in 2023. The days of minimalist jewelry are being tossed aside for bolder statement pieces. Chunky necklaces, cuff bracelets and mixed metals are all trending styles that are being favored at the moment.

Below are some of my preferred silver jewelry pieces to get you up to date on what’s trending in 2023.

1. Chunky Necklaces

Chunky necklaces are probably the biggest of the silver trends on the scene right now. Chains, pendents, and anything that makes a bold statement will all be pieces you’ll want to add to your collection this year.

2. Cuff Bracelets

The 80’s cuff bracelet is trending in 2023 and I’m here for it, especially if it comes in silver. The fact that you’re only adding one singular bracelet to your arm, rather than the bracelet stacking of past seasons, makes this trend a simple and easy one to incorporate.

3. Mixed Metals

We saw a great deal of mixed metals along with two toned gold and silver pieces emerge from Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. After seeing these styles all over the runway, I can definitively say that we will be seeing more of this trend in the coming months. Mixing metals is a great way to add extra interest and allure to your jewelry.

4. Silver with Pearls

Another reason I suspect that silver jewelry is making a comeback in 2023 is because of the vintage feel that silver exudes. With old money aesthetic currently trending (see my post, Old Money Aesthetic Style Guide 2023), its no wonder silver is on everyone’s radar. One of my favorite combinations is silver and pearls. To me, pairing the two feels vintage, classic and refined.

5. Silver Layering

Make sure to purchase at least a few silver necklaces because layering is key this year. Combine pendants, chains, and chokers to create striking, eye catching layers. Have fun with this one because again, making a bold statement is the idea with this season’s lineup.
