It’s safe to say that my latest summer obsession is the Loewe basket bag. It’s classic, timeless and the epitome of summer style.
The Spanish brand was originally founded in Madrid in 1846 by a group of leather craftsmen, and further established when they were joined by German craftsman, Enrique Loewe in 1876. Loewe became popular with the Royal Household of Spain, among other significant people in the early 1900’s, which set the fashion brand’s success in motion, and as a result, the reason we have summer’s hottest bag: the Loewe basket bag.

From mornings shopping at the market, to afternoons spent at the beach, woven basket bags have always been the quintessential summer bag. But it wasn’t until Loewe put their anagram logo on the side of a market bag that the Loewe basket bag became the summer’s hottest bag.
I can’t talk about the Loewe basket bag without highlighting the brilliant logo adorned on each basket bag. The anagram logo was designed by Spanish painter Vicente Vela in the 1970’s and is classy, sophisticated and feminine.
