It’s taken me awhile to jump on the wide leg pants trend, probably because it makes me feel old and young all at the same time. Let me explain why I say that. I grew up in the ninety’s and the big, baggy, wide leg pants were all that we wore. So to see these back in style reminds me just how long ago it was that I originally wore them, and for a time it made me question if I was too old to be wearing them. Once I finally decided to purchase a pair I knew as soon as I put them on that I was not too old to wear them. In fact, they made me feel young and confident. And confidence really is the key to making any outfit look great. Now that I feel confident in them, I want to show you how to style wide leg pants so that you can rock them, too!

How to Style Wide Leg Pants

First and foremost, there are really so many ways to style wide leg pants. Let me show you first how I styled the ones I’m wearing in the photos, and then some of my other favorite ways to style them.

With a Bodysuit and Chelsea Boots

A long sleeve bodysuit is one of my go to ways to style wide leg pants. The silhouette of a bodysuit paired with the high waist of a wide leg pant, make this an ultra flattering combination. The long sleeve also gives the outfit a more elevated look. When choosing a bodysuit, make sure it’s comfortable. The last thing you want to wear is a bodysuit that is too tight and uncomfortable. Wide leg pants with a pair of Chelsea boots is a great combination. I love a chunkier, lug sole boot like the ones above. Chunky boots look great with a more cropped pant, too!
